Justee 3 Is Here: Deep Mode for Our Legal AI Assistant and Better Contract Reviews

Key Takeaways

  • Justee 3, the new version of the Justee legal AI assistant, is live, with clearer answers in the chat, a check of current sources and a new Deep mode for complex legal questions.
  • Contract reviews now double-check their own findings before you see them: fewer false alarms, clearer wording, checked case citations and more relevant sources.
  • Full Private Mode gets the same review improvements, and private chats can now check current sources too.
  • Sign-in and account protections were strengthened at the same time. Justee gives legal information, not legal advice, and AI can still make mistakes.

Justee 3, the newest version of the Justee legal AI assistant, is live. Over the first half of October 2026 we released better answers in the chat, a new Deep mode for complex legal questions, a round of improvements to contract reviews, and stronger protections for your account. Most of it you will notice in the results rather than in new buttons.

This post is a short tour of what changed and what you can expect. We have kept it practical: what is new, who gets it, and how it helps when you are reading a lease, an employment contract or an NDA. We do not go into how it is built. If you are curious how the new chat did on a public benchmark of legal questions, we covered that separately in Justee 3 on PRBench Legal.

Justee 3 is the third major version of Justee, a legal AI assistant that helps people understand contracts and legal questions, released in October 2026. In the chat, answers pay closer attention to the law where you are and can take account of recent changes in the law. A new Deep mode, called Detailed analysis in the app, works through a complex legal question from several angles and gives one fuller answer; it is included in every paid plan. Contract reviews were improved at the same time. Each review now double-checks its findings before showing them: it looks across the whole document, attachments included, before saying something is missing, removes findings that do not hold up, rewrites the rest in plain language, checks cited court cases against public legal sources and keeps only sources that address the issue. Full Private Mode gets the same improvements. Justee provides legal information, not legal advice.

What is new in the Justee 3 chat?

Justee 3 gives clearer, more complete answers to legal questions, with or without a document. It pays closer attention to the law where you are, can check current sources for recent changes in the law, and adds Deep mode for questions that deserve a fuller answer.

Most people come to the chat with a practical question. Can my landlord keep my deposit for this? What does this non-compete actually stop me from doing? Is this clause normal? Justee 3 is designed to answer questions like these more directly, in plain language, and to name the law it relies on so you can look it up yourself.

Behind the scenes, Justee 3 brings together our reference library of over 1 million sections of U.S. and England & Wales legislation, a live check of current sources, a newer generation of AI and a new way of preparing answers. When you mention a state or a country, the answer is framed around that place's law, and when it is not clear which law applies, the chat may ask before it answers.

A few smaller changes make the chat easier to use. You can ask questions out loud and listen to the answer in Voice mode. A usage meter shows how much of your plan's chat allowance is left. And the legal notice now sits once at the bottom of the chat instead of under every answer, so the answers themselves are easier to read.

Some things stay the same. According to Justee, the chat gives general legal information, not legal advice, and it does not draft letters or court filings for you. It is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney; for advice on any contract, routine or not, talk to a lawyer.

What is Deep mode?

Deep mode is a new option for complex legal questions. Instead of a quick reply, Justee takes about a minute to work through the question from several angles, then gives one fuller, structured answer. It is included in every paid plan and is called Detailed analysis in the app.

Deep mode is most useful when a question has several moving parts: a dispute that involves both a deposit and repairs, a situation that touches the law of two states, or a decision where you want to understand the options and what each one could mean. For a quick check of a single point, a quick answer is usually all you need.

On paid plans, Deep mode is on by default and steps in when a legal question calls for it. You can switch to quick answers in the chat at any time, and ask for the fuller version of any quick answer with Go deeper. A detailed answer uses more of your plan's chat allowance than a quick one. The pricing page shows what each plan includes.

What is better in contract reviews?

Reviews now check their own work before you see it. You can expect fewer warnings that something is missing when it is actually in the document, fewer findings that do not matter, clearer wording, court cases checked against public sources, and sources that speak to the issue at hand.

  • Fewer false "missing" warnings. Before a review says a term is missing, it now looks across the whole document, including schedules, exhibits and attachments. If the contract refers to an attachment you did not upload, the review tells you that instead.
  • Fewer findings that do not matter. Every finding gets a second look before it reaches you. Findings that do not hold up are removed, so the list is shorter and more focused.
  • Clearer wording. Findings are written in plain language: what the clause says, why it may matter and what to ask about.
  • Checked case citations. When a finding mentions a court case, the review checks it against public legal sources. A case that cannot be found is taken out, and a misnamed case is corrected.
  • More relevant sources. The public sources behind a finding are now fresher and more closely matched to its issue, and articles that only touch the topic in passing are left out.
  • Templates handled sensibly. If you upload a template with blanks still in it, you get one note listing what is left to fill in, instead of a long list of findings about empty fields.
  • More of the issues that matter. Reviews now start from the issues most often raised for that type of document under the law you chose, so common problems are less likely to be overlooked.
  • Closer to the law. Statements about what a statute or regulation requires are tied more closely to the text of the law itself.
  • Steadier on long documents. Large reviews now keep a severity rating on every finding, and we fixed problems that could stop a review partway through.

Nothing changes in how you use it. You upload a PDF or DOCX file (scanned PDFs work) or paste the text, choose the jurisdiction, and read the findings. If you are new to this, our guide to how AI contract review works covers the basics.

Every Justee review now double-checks its findings before you see them, so the list you read is shorter, clearer and closer to your actual contract.

How did we get there?

In plain terms, we taught Justee to check its own work. We looked closely at where answers and reviews fell short: warnings about terms that were sitting in an exhibit, findings about blanks in a template, case names nobody could find, sources that were only loosely related, wording only a lawyer would enjoy. Each improvement in Justee 3 targets one of those patterns, and each was tried on sample contracts and questions before it went live.

The same idea runs through the chat. Deep mode gives a hard question more time and more than one angle before Justee answers, and the chat checks current sources when the law may have moved. We will keep improving Justee in the same way, and we will tell you about the changes that make a difference to your results.

What changed for privacy and security?

Full Private Mode is an optional setting on all paid plans: Justee's servers process the document, then seal the result with a key only you hold. Private reviews get every improvement described above, with the same privacy protections described on our private mode page, and private chats can now check current sources too. When Justee searches, it sends short search requests without your name or account.

According to Justee (justee.ai), Full Private Mode covers the reviews, chats and comparisons made with it on, plus files in the document vault. Around it, we strengthened account protections: new sign-ups confirm their email with a code, Justee asks you to sign in again before changes to your private-mode key or PIN, and guest data is erased after 24 hours. New accounts also see a short notice explaining what a legal AI assistant can and cannot do. The privacy FAQ answers the most common questions.

Where Justee 3 helps most

A few common moments where the improvements show up:

  • Before signing a lease. A lease review now looks through the whole lease and its attachments before flagging anything as missing, and the chat can explain what a deposit or repair clause usually means where you live.
  • Reading a job offer. An offer letter often points to a separate agreement or handbook. The review now notices that, and Deep mode can walk through a question such as how a non-compete and a notice period fit together.
  • Signing an NDA or freelance contract. Shorter, plain-language findings make it quicker to see which clauses deserve a question, whether it is an NDA or a freelance contract.
  • Answering a question about your rights. Not every question starts with a document. Whether it is a dispute with a landlord, a final paycheck or a refund, the chat frames its answer around the law where you are and can take account of recent changes, and Deep mode can lay out the options when the situation is complicated.
  • Working from a template. Upload it early and you get one note listing the blanks and choices left, then review again once it is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Justee 3?

Justee 3 is the newest version of the Justee legal AI assistant, released in October 2026. The chat gives clearer answers that pay closer attention to the law where you are and to recent changes, Deep mode adds fuller answers to complex questions on paid plans, and contract reviews now double-check their findings before you see them.

What is Deep mode and who can use it?

Deep mode, called Detailed analysis in the app, works through a complex legal question from several angles and gives one fuller answer, which takes about a minute. It is included in every paid plan and is on by default there. You can switch to quick answers at any time, and use Go deeper to get the fuller version of a quick answer.

Is Deep mode part of the free trial?

No. The free trial and guest chats give quick answers, which work well for most everyday questions. Deep mode is included in every paid plan. The pricing page lists what each plan includes, along with the chat allowance that a detailed answer draws on.

What will I notice in my contract reviews?

Fewer warnings that a term is missing when it is in the document, fewer findings that do not matter, plain-language wording, cited court cases checked against public legal sources, sources that address the issue, and one simple note for an unfilled template. How you upload and read a review stays the same, and a review typically takes 1 to 6 minutes.

Do I need to change any settings?

No. The review improvements apply to every new review automatically, and Deep mode is on by default on paid plans. Reviews saved before the update keep their original findings; running a new review of the same document uses the improved checks.

How can I check a case or statute that Justee mentions?

Look it up in an official source. For U.S. federal law, the United States Code and GovInfo are free to search; for England and Wales, legislation.gov.uk and the National Archives' Find Case Law service. Confirm that the source says what the answer uses it for. A link in a Justee finding is a starting point for that check, not a substitute for it.

Does Full Private Mode get the improvements?

Yes. Private reviews get the same improvements with the same privacy protections, and private chats can now check current sources too. Full Private Mode is an optional setting on all paid plans: Justee's servers process the document, then seal the result with a key only you hold.

Does Justee replace a lawyer?

No. Justee is not a law firm. It provides legal information, not legal advice, and is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. AI can miss issues or get them wrong, and these improvements reduce that risk without removing it. For advice on any contract, routine or not, talk to a lawyer.
